A Letter from Katie Christensen –The New Interim Head of School

Dear Mack Community!

I am honored and excited to be joining your community as Mack’s Interim Head of School. During my time at the school and through my extensive conversations with the Search Committee, I kept returning to the feeling that this opportunity felt like a perfect fit. The right school, the right community, the right team, the right students, and the right time. I am thrilled beyond words to have this opportunity to partner with you in building upon Mack’s strong foundation and rich traditions and I am eager to work hand-in-hand with Mack’s incredible faculty to ensure the school’s bright future.

My time at Mack reminded me of what first drew me to working in independent schools – the beauty of an environment where kids can be kids, free to pursue their passions and follow their curiosity, in a setting grounded in authentic relationships with devoted teachers, a safe and inclusive culture, and a curriculum that promotes the development of the whole child and prepares students to contribute to the world beyond our walls. In today’s uncertain and often polarized world, it is more important than ever that places like Mack exist for our students today and for the students of tomorrow.

I would like to thank the entire Mack community for their warm welcome and the Search Committee for their tireless work in supporting a thoughtful and thorough search process. I look forward to getting to know each member of the Mack community, to listening carefully, to engaging in rich and thoughtful discussions, and to working openly and collaboratively to support Mack’s excellence in pursuing its unique and important mission.

With sincere gratitude,

Katie Christensen
