Robert Warner, US Army Veteran & Mack Grandfather

When, Where, How Did You Serve?

Served in the US Army from 1966-1969. Including good a one year tour in Vietnam.

Do you have any meaningful/impactful moments or stories you would like to share?

My military service served to mature me and taught me to accept responsibility.

What would you like generations behind you to know about serving?

Serving our country in any capacity is a privilege and an honor. It is important to realize that we owe a debt of gratitude to those who have previously served to quarantine our freedom and for each of us to do our part to ensure that future generations can also enjoy freedom. Freedom is not free and must be paid for by service and commitment to our ideals.

What’s something you learned about yourself during the time you served or after?

I quickly learned that there is a greater good that superseded my own individual good and that I was responsible to do my part to help achieve that good.

What is the significance of Veterans Day for you?

Honoring all veterans for their sacrifice and service shows our appreciation for what they did on our behalf. “All gave some, some gave all.”
