A school with a rich history, integrated into our community
- Colorado’s first school for gifted students, Mackintosh Academy was founded in 1977 in Denver by Eve Mackintosh.
- Moved to Littleton in the late 1980s; second campus in Boulder opened in 2011.
- Achieved International Baccalaureate authorization in 2006, further enriching our program.
- 155 students in K – 8th grade on our stunning 23-acre Boulder campus ideally situated off South Boulder Road between Boulder and Louisville.
- All ages participate in service-learning projects to benefit the greater community.

- Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) taught K-8th as well as integrated into homeroom culture and instruction.
- PhD and Masters level teachers with expertise in International Baccalaureate, gifted education, social-emotional learning, and design thinking.
- Most homeroom and specialist teachers hold Colorado Professional Teaching Licenses.
