What’s the trouble with trebuchets? Well, there are many considerations when designing a trebuchet. Where will it be used? How long is the launch area? What do you want to launch? Where on the throwing arm to position the main pivot point, or fulcrum? How do you make it more powerful? Why do we care?
The Mack Middle School Trebuchet Build and Pumpkin Chucking Competition is back!!! Our four Middle school houses are tasked with designing, engineering, testing, analyzing, and improving their designs in order to go head-to-head and see which house’s trebuchet can launch a pumpkin the farthest. Building and testing is underway. Stay tuned for the main event in November!
